This tipsy and refreshing hot summer drink can be easily prepared using a sous vide cooking method. Treat yourself with a sous vide rosemary citrus gin and invite your friends over!
A cold beer isn't the only refresher in a hot summer. The sous vide rosemary citrus gin is a great alternative. This light heady cocktail will definitely strike a chord with you and your loved ones.
Ingredients
Serves: –+
- London dry gin 350 ml
- Orange 3 pcs
- Lime ½ piece
- Sugar 4 tbsp
- Rosemary 2 sprigs
Method
-
You need to preheat your sous vide water bath to 58 degrees Celsius to make this wonderful cocktail.
-
Slice up citrus fruits the way you like the most. Set aside a few slices (they will be used for serving) and put the rest in a vacuum bag along with gin, then add sugar. The bag can now be sealed and immersed into the bath for two hours.
-
At the end of poaching, take out the bag and draw the drink through a strainer into a bottle. This bottle will be used as a distributor to the fancier glasses from now on. Now the bottle needs to be cooled down thoroughly.
-
Before pouring the cocktail into glasses, it's better to add some ice to the bottom of each glass. Rosemary and leftover citrus slices can be used for garnishing now. It won't hurt if you add some tonic to the cocktail. As a matter of fact, it will make it much better!
