Believe it or not, but a sous vide cooking technology can be used to make slightly tipsy drinks such as various berry gins. These drinks are excellent thirst quenchers and mood setters. Try out our recipe for the sous vide raspberry gin and treat your friends with it.
Ingredients
Serves: –+
- Dry gin 175 ml
- Fresh raspberry 200 gr
- Elderflower infusion 50 ml
- Unrefined brown sugar 4 tsp
- Grenadine syrup 1 tsp
Method
-
Your sous vide water bath must preheat water to 60°C for a cocktail to turns out well.
-
Take one vacuum bag or a ziploc bag and simply put all the ingredients in there one by one. Then seal the bag tightly (it's better to let a vacuum sealer do it for you) and immerse it in a water bath for two and a half hours.
-
Take out the bag after two and a half hours. While the bag is still warm, take a tablespoon and mash all the raspberries without opening the bag. Then draw the drink through a strainer or buttercloth into a bottle and cool it down. You can put it in an ice bucket to chill it faster.
-
Take your favorite glasses and put a couple of ice cubes on the bottom of each one. Pour the gin into glasses. You can mix the drink with a tonic if you like so. You can put a vase with raspberries and blackberries next to the glasses to make it look even more sophisticated.
