Sous vide egg snack with cheese

If you love cheese and healthy lifestyle, then this sous vide egg appetizer with cheese is going to be your favorite!

There are times when you want a simple snack preferably with cheese. Gruyère cheese was used in this recipe, but if you can't find it, don't be discouraged! Gruyère can be easily replaced by any other hard or semi-hard cheese such as Cheddar, Gouda, Eichago, Neuchâtel, etc.

Ingredients

  • Chicken eggs 6 pcs
  • Hard/semi-hard cheese 70 gr
  • Cream cheese 60 gr
  • Salt (optional if cheese is salty enough) ¼ tsp
  • Mason jars (125ml capacity minimum) 6 pcs

  • Make sure that your sous vide cooker preheated the water to a temperature of 77.8 degrees.
  • Put all the ingredients in a blender or a food processor and blend until smooth and thick like cream.
  • Pour the mixture evenly into the jars.
  • Seal the jars with lids untightly so that the steam that forms in the jar during cooking can freely escape from there. If you seal the lids tightly, then there will be no escape for the steam and the jars may burst open right in the cooker.
  • Immerse the jars in the sous vide cooker and set its timer for 1 hour.
  • Take them out from water. You can start eating right from the jar.
  • Gently squeeze the snack out of the jar helping yourself with a knife. If you like it crusty, then burn the tops lightly with a cooking torch or put the treat in an oven for just a couple of minutes.
